Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam. The successful candidate will work on developing new strategies for generating reliable machine learning models for simulating thermo-hydro-mechanical processes in geothermal operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new machine learning algorithms for predicting induced seismicity in geothermal systems
  • Collaborate with our team to further develop and optimize hybrid AI systems for geoscience applications
  • Conduct research on sparse data applications and the reliable incorporation of physical knowledge into machine learning models
  • Present research results at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, computer science, or geophysics
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries
  • Good English language skills and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
