Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam. The successful candidate will work on developing new strategies to generate reliable machine learning models for the simulation of thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) processes. The project focuses on the use of AI methods in procedures for determining sensitivities, uncertainties, and an optimal experimental design. The PhD position is subject to approval by third-party funders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new strategies to generate reliable machine learning models for THM processes
- Generate predictive maps to evaluate the potential of induced seismicity
- Further develop the code basis
- Presentation of results on conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Master degree or equivalent in mathematics, computer science, or geophysics
- Interest in research and applications in the field of induced seismicity
- Programming skills in Python and experience in machine learning
