Project Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam to work on a project focused on the predictive assessment of induced seismicity through hierarchical physics-based machine learning methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an optimal experimental design strategy for the placement of monitoring systems using machine learning surrogates
  • Determine the influence of different data sources
  • Further develop the code basis
  • Presentation of the results on conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements

  • Master degree or equivalent in mathematics, computer science or geophysics or in related subjects
  • Interest in research and applications in the field of induced seismicity
  • Programming skills in Python as well as experience in the field of machine learning
  • Good English language skills
