Mechanical Engineering Department Head

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead our team of Engineering Managers in developing and implementing our product development strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our product meets national and international regulations, and will have end-to-end responsibility for the department's deliverables towards its customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign product development activities to engineering teams and manage priorities.
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to direct reports through coaching and mentorship.
- Proactively identify hiring and training needs for the team to ensure availability of relevant resources and competencies.
- Ensure high standards of development quality within the team by establishing good practices and following the design organization's processes.
- Collaborate with other CTO-departments and cross-functional areas to guarantee best company results.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in departments main technical field (Mechanical Engineering)
- PHD or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or comparable, for example: Master's in economics, business, and engineering, or comparable study program.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally.
- Experience with leading motivated and high performing teams and managers, comfortable with change, high level of flexibility and efficiency.
