Senior Specialist in Industrial Relations and Lobbying

As a Senior Specialist in Industrial Relations and Lobbying, you will represent CYBEX in official standardization and regulatory working groups for child restraint systems. Your responsibilities will include informing the Child Safety development teams of the latest regulatory activities to ensure new products under development are future-proofed against potential regulatory changes.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Represent CYBEX in official standardization and regulatory working groups for child restraint systems
  • Inform the Child Safety development teams of the latest regulatory activities
  • Specify and lead research projects to influence future regulations
  • Negotiate with regulatory authorities to ensure they understand CYBEX's product portfolio and philosophy
  • Disseminate CYBEX's research at working groups and international conferences
  • Represent CYBEX in industry associations to ensure collective positions are agreed and disseminated
  • Assist and Deputy of Manager Industrial Relations Child Safety in all compliance topics regarding certification and standardization of child restraint systems

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in engineering or physics or comparable
  • At least 5 years' experience within an automotive research or testing environment (specializing in child safety preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of occupant protection, restraint systems, and full vehicle crashworthiness
  • Skilled in the use of biomechanical analysis of crash dummy kinematics and measurement data
  • Experience in leading complex vehicle safety research projects
  • Regular speaker at peer-reviewed international conferences, seminars, and events
  • Author of published reports and conference papers on occupant protection and biomechanics
  • Knowledge of child restraint system legislation and key regulatory bodies
  • Member of international regulatory working groups and standards committees preferred
  • International reputation and network of contacts in the occupant safety community desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Good IT skills and proficient in data handling through MS Excel or similar software
