Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Timber and Solid Construction to join our Department of Civil Engineering at the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the field of timber and solid construction, with a focus on innovative load-bearing structures and digitally supported production methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach modules in timber engineering and solid construction, as well as fundamentals of civil engineering
  • Conduct research into innovative load-bearing structures in timber engineering and/or solid construction, with a focus on digitally supported production methods
  • Develop and implement interdisciplinary study and communication formats for multidisciplinary teaching and dialog between science and society
  • Participate in the Laboratory for Structural Engineering and contribute to the development of new research projects
Requirements
  • Doctorate in engineering and a qualified university degree in civil engineering or a comparable field
  • Extensive relevant professional experience (at least five years, with at least three years outside the university sector)
  • Relevant practical construction experience in structural timber construction and/or solid construction, including hybrid constructions
  • Ability to represent the subject area in research and teaching, with a focus on innovative load-bearing structures and digitally supported production methods
