Job Title: Material Compliance Expert

At Novanta, we're committed to innovation and excellence in the medical device industry. We're seeking a highly skilled Material Compliance Expert to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Material Compliance Expert will be responsible for ensuring that all purchased goods and services meet the requirements of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). This includes identifying potential risks related to materials used, maintaining up-to-date technical documentation, and communicating with suppliers to obtain material compliance statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure raw materials are designed and manufactured in accordance with MDR requirements
  • Identify potential risks related to materials used, such as toxicity, inflammatory properties, and interactions with biological tissue
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation on materials and their compliance
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain material compliance statements and develop strategies for non-compliant materials
  • Implement and maintain software to ensure up-to-date material compliance
  • Conduct risk and impact assessments of materials at BOM level
  • Train employees on material compliance strategies, policies, and processes
  • Creation of reports to monitor material compliance status
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Material Compliance, or Materials Engineering
  • Analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Environmental Protection, Engineering, Chemistry, Business Management, or a comparable field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English and German (oral and written)
