Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Statutory Compliance Specialist to join our team at Lloyd's Register. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data, responding to queries, resolving issues, and reviewing documents prepared by our outsourced provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with local offices of the outsourced provider to ensure the global 'Statutory & Compliance process' is delivered accurately and timely.
  • Review output of the outsourced provider (tax returns, VAT returns, financial statements, and other filings) for sign-off.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement and change projects.
  • Work with Group Tax to raise direct tax-related issues for root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Coordinate local audits and ensure deliverables are provided by relevant internal parties to ensure audits are closed timely.
  • Perform local compliance activities not performed by the global outsourced provider.
  • Support Group Treasury with regular cash repatriation from foreign countries.

Key Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviors in the workplace, and take appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a willingness to study for ACCA/CA/CPA or local equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Standard working knowledge of English and preferably one or more local European languages.
  • Experience with auditors and working in an S&C environment.
  • Knowledge of local compliance requirements for tax, accounting, and reporting.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of how to maintain a strong control framework.
