Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to lead our people operations in Berlin, Germany. As Chief People Development Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the company culture and driving strategic initiatives that impact our growth.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, payroll, and employee relations. Your expertise will be invaluable in managing our team's performance and development, as well as fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, focusing on senior roles, and provide guidance to our Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Coach and support our TA Specialist and People & Culture Manager to drive HR operations, employee engagement, and culture-building.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee-related requests and maintain strong relationships with employees and managers.
  • Act as the main liaison with German authorities for work permits, visas, and other compliance matters.
  • Oversee payroll and benefits processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with German labor laws.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in a Germany-based environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant certifications and a Master's degree are a plus.
  • Proven recruitment expertise, with the ability to independently lead processes and design innovative assessment methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and proactivity, with familiarity with German labor regulations and experience in managing communications with authorities.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and Personio is an asset; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools like Teams, Notion, and Slack is required.
  • Familiarity with managing external suppliers and previous experience in fast-paced environments, such as startups, consultancies, or venture capital firms, is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and German is essential.
