Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Battery Systems Engineer to join our Energy Storage Unit (ESU) component development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and verification of battery systems for our eVTOL aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct comprehensive verification activities to evaluate the safety, reliability, and performance of battery systems.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements outlined by EASA's SC-VTOL and E-19 regulations.
  • Develop test verification plans, oversee battery testing, analyze test data, and generate detailed reports on battery performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and verification of batteries in VTOL aircraft.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external certification authorities to provide updates on verification progress.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Background in battery development and experience with DO-311A.
  • Knowledge of certification and development processes and experience with DO-160G.
  • Experience in developing and implementing battery testing methodologies.
  • Team player with strong technical skills and ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of HV and Li-ion batteries, digital communication buses, and/or model-based systems engineering.
  • Experience with FMEA and FMECA.
  • Knowledge of ARP4761.
