We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Team Lead to join our team at Babbel. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to develop high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure for personalization features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and growth within the team
  • Collaborate with product managers to drive technical discovery and delivery of innovative features and microservices
  • Ensure the integrity, compliance, and security of the team's outputs by implementing best engineering practices
  • Mentor team members on communication and engineering aspects, identify and address gaps in team capabilities and performance
  • Optimize agile methodologies and engineering excellence to enhance development efficiency and team dynamics
Requirements
  • 5+ years software development experience using Python, SQL, and event streaming technologies as well as cloud services in a production environment
  • 2+ years of experience in managing a team with a focus on mentoring and tech leadership
  • Experience in test automation and building a data observability and quality control solutions
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies, adapting processes to suit project needs and team dynamics
  • Skill in effective communication and collaboration across teams and disciplines
  • Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within your team
  • Eagerness for continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and exploring new tools and techniques
