We are seeking a seasoned Data Science Team Lead to spearhead our global discovery initiatives in Berlin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a talented team in researching innovative machine learning and AI based solutions to enhance the Search experience for millions of customers.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of machine learning projects from ideation to deployment, collaborating with data scientists and engineers.
  • Cultivate a high-performance team by nurturing talent, providing direction, and building a culture of scientific excellence and continuous learning.
  • Partner with the product team to develop solutions for real customer problems, driving business impact and managing stakeholders and dependencies.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience building Search solutions in industry contexts and 2+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in a wide variety of Machine learning, Statistical methods, and Search algorithms (Classical ML, NLP, Information Retrieval, Learning-to-rank, Semantic Retrieval).
  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL, with experience working with the Scientific Python stack, Airflow, and cloud platforms like GCP.
  • An adaptable leader who thrives in ambiguity, with a knack for breaking down complex problems into actionable steps.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management and fostering strong relationships, with excellent business understanding to drive informed engineering decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to influence beyond the team.
