Job Description

We are Impossible Cloud GmbH, a cutting-edge technology company based in Hamburg, Germany. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team.

The estimated salary for this position is around €80,000 - €120,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.

About the Role

You will be responsible for designing and implementing technical architecture, deploying software, and monitoring infrastructure and services. You will work closely with developers, other DevOps engineers, and release management to ensure code deployment in the most reliable manner.

You will take ownership and challenge what's supposed to be deployed. As one of the first engineers to build cutting-edge infrastructure from scratch in the blockchain industry, you will have a significant impact on the development of our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Share ownership with developers to create shared responsibility and reduce organizational silos
  • Setting up and implementing release management
  • Building SLOs and SLIs and their critical parameters from scratch
  • Observing what has to be automated and initiating actions to automate things
  • Designing, creating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines based on modern frameworks such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Ensuring operation and maintenance of applications, considering additional aspects such as monitoring, alerting, logging, and security
  • Developing and maintaining cloud security solutions and integrating security services
  • Implementing patch management across the whole infrastructure and tech stacks
  • Setting up testing and deployment automation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience as a Senior member or Team Tech lead in a DevOps capacity
  • Mentored junior Engineers on your team
  • Experience with managing Linux systems
  • Hands-on experience with databases or search engines like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
  • Ideal experience with container technologies like Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, practices, and technologies
  • Worked with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or others
  • Familiarity with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, or others
  • Ideal experience in the blockchain industry
