Aerospace Engineer for Formation Flying Research

At the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), we are committed to shaping the future of aviation through research and innovation. We are now seeking a highly motivated Bachelor Thesis Student to contribute to our mission.

The successful candidate will work on defining margins for takeoff times, separation flying distances, and more for formation flying in civil aviation. This project aims to reduce fuel consumption by utilizing the upwash generated by a preceding aircraft, thereby enhancing the environmental sustainability of the aviation sector.

The ideal candidate will have almost finished their B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is essential. Additionally, programming skills in Python3 are a plus. If you are passionate about sustainable aviation and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
