Job Summary:
The Director of Communications and Assistant Advancement Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to promote the College's programs and services. This includes creating and disseminating marketing materials, managing social media, and coordinating public relations efforts. The successful candidate will also assist in the development and implementation of the SVCC Foundation's annual fund strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to promote the College's programs and services
- Manage social media platforms to engage with current and prospective students, faculty, and staff
- Coordinate public relations efforts to promote the College's image and reputation
- Assist in the development and implementation of the SVCC Foundation's annual fund strategy
- Manage and administer department budget in a cost-effective and fiscally-responsible manner
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of an active internal communication plan for employees and students
- Represent the College at off-campus events and meetings
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience and at least 2 years of experience at a supervisory level
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
- Strong understanding of marketing and branding concepts
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and to evaluate return on investments
- Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a higher education environment
Work Environment:
The Director of Communications and Assistant Advancement Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
