Data Center Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Excelgens Consulting Services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in hardware troubleshooting, physical network setup, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Troubleshooting: Expert-level knowledge of server hardware with a focus on diagnosing component and system failures.
- Physical Network Setup: Troubleshoot network issues across Layer-1, Layer-2, and Layer-3, set up, clean, and manage cables, and assist network administrators with switch setups.
- Communication and Teamwork: Coordinate pre-work meetings, provide daily status updates, and develop and implement standard operating procedures to support field activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role working on server hardware and network troubleshooting within a datacenter environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs independently or in partnership for items over 50lbs.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a data center environment.
- CCNA certification.
- MCP/MSCE certification.
- Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
