Head of Communications Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Communications to join our team at the Apolitical Foundation. As a key member of our senior team, you will be responsible for developing and executing communications strategies to enhance our visibility, impact, and networks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the Apolitical Foundation and its projects and initiatives.
- Manage and direct the brand, voice, and messaging of the Foundation through strategic, clear, concise, and engaging written communications and other media.
- Oversee day-to-day communications to ensure strategic, clear, concise, and engaging written communications and other media are produced, including traditional and social media, website content, and visual identity.
- Develop relationships with key journalists, editors, and producers to secure media coverage and promote the Foundation's work.
- Coordinate media, social media, and website update calendars to ensure timely and effective communication.
- Provide communications strategy and execution support across the team and across projects.
- Manage a Communications Coordinator and be available to travel and work outside standard work hours as needed.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a clear, concise, and engaging style.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to see the big picture while managing day-to-day communications activities.
- Robust understanding of politics and democracy with the ability to stay ahead of trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Proven record of building and maintaining relationships with journalists and partners.
- Leadership skills with the capacity to foster a collaborative and results- and data-driven working environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Networking aptitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Good judgment and sensitivities when communicating with different cultures.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Notion, Wix, and Canva, with a focus on presentation and data analysis tools.
