Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) for Hydro Power Generators and Balance of Plant Electrical

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or execute site commissioning (globally) of synchronous and asynchronous generators/motors with nominal voltage exceeding 1kV, including auxiliary systems, excitation systems, and electrical protection.
  • Oversee and/or perform site commissioning (globally) of electrical balance of plant equipment, such as power distribution boards, transformers, and switchgear, including control and protection devices.
  • Conduct fault diagnosis, optimization, and reporting during commissioning activities.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Facilitate equipment handover and provide customer training.
  • Offer technical project and engineering support from the back office.

Your Qualifications

  • Completed education (degree) in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in the commissioning of synchronous and asynchronous generators, electrical machines, switchgear, transformers, excitation, and/or protection systems is advantageous.
  • Alternatively: Technician-level education with relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English; knowledge of German and additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French) is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to undertake worldwide short and long-term business travel and site deployments.
  • Possess result-oriented, analytical, and collaborative skills, along with loyalty and high operational readiness.
  • Intercultural experience is beneficial.
