IT Support Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team at Ascend Advanced Therapies. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems and equipment, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Network Support: Support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • User Training and Support: Conduct inductions and training sessions for employees on IT best practices and the use of company software and hardware.
  • Project Assistance: Collaborate with the IT and Lab teams on various projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to IT, and support audits and implement security protocols to protect sensitive data and information.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English and German (required).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar are a plus.
