Job Description

As a Senior Buyer (f/m/d) with profound knowledge of IT and Service contracts, you will be responsible for implementing offshore procurement strategies within dedicated bidding and/or development projects that align with the company's objectives and respective category strategies. Your primary focus will be on offshore wind energy projects, where you will take on the role of procurement lead for the respective lots in dedicated projects and lead communication with suppliers' project sales managers.

You will ensure continuous alignment with the project's operations team and consider relevant project and product life-cycle requirements. Additionally, you will take responsibility within the project team to run all required RFI/RFP/RFQ/ITT processes in alignment with the responsible Work Package Manager of the project.

Your tasks include negotiating and finalizing relevant contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers for dedicated projects to ensure competitive pricing (FEED/CAPEX/OPEX), quality, and timely delivery while adhering to budgetary constraints.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams from engineering, project management, finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment and compliance with project timelines, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

In addition, you will ensure full transparency about the project's procurement process, history, and positive/critical developments and continuously align or escalate (if needed) within the line or product organization.

About the Role

As a Senior Buyer (f/m/d), you will have the chance to develop category strategies and drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes, vendor relationships, and cost-saving strategies.

You will also track and report observations of upcoming market trends, technological advancements, and industry developments as well as related opportunities and risks to allow adaptation and optimization of generic and/or project-specific procurement strategies and decisions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in Telecommunication, Industrial Engineering, Business studies, or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years focused on wind energy projects in these fields, giving you a good technical understanding for the realization of large projects.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing procurement activities, negotiating contracts, and building strong supplier relationships, always striving for the best solutions.
  • A wide background of industry knowledge, a good understanding of current market conditions, and the ability to understand complex interdependencies to find the best technical and commercially relevant solution.
  • A strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data-driven decision-making, and the ability to drive cost-effective solutions.

In addition, you should have strong communication and negotiation skills, be able to collaborate effectively across various teams and stakeholders, and have an excellent understanding of IT and Service contracts, particularly in OT and IT areas.

Location

This role is based in Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, or other locations within Germany, offering the opportunity to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
