Head of Supply Chain Management

Key Responsibilities

The Regional Head of Program Management - Europe is a critical leadership position within DB Schenker's International Supply Chain Solutions (ISC) team, reporting directly to the Head of ISC Europe. This role coordinates and leads program management efforts across European clusters, promoting operational excellence, supply chain optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position demands functional leadership over the region's program management teams, aligning their activities with the company's strategic goals and fostering an innovative and efficient culture in a diverse, multicultural setting.

This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality continuous improvement processes to ISC customers, leveraging methodologies such as lean management, six sigma, agile supply chain management, digital transformation, proactive scenarios assessment and risk management, customer-centric supply chain approach, total quality management (TQM), and supply chain segmentation strategies.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Drive supply chain improvements
  • Lead the identification and implementation of digital technologies and innovative solutions to drive supply chain efficiencies and improvements
  • Proactively monitor and manage regional/global KPIs, setting ambitious targets for supply chain performance
  • Spearheaded joint value projects across clusters, facilitating collaboration and sharing of best practices to achieve mutual benefits
  • Direct the design and execution of strategies for continuous improvement, leveraging insights from data analytics and industry trends

Requirements

  • University degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Management, or a related field, with a strong preference for advanced degrees or certifications in project management or supply chain management
  • At least 10 years of experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry, predominantly in Intercontinental Supply Chain Solutions and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Proven leadership experience in functionally managing and developing multicultural teams across different countries, with a solid ability to coordinate efforts and drive team performance on direct and indirect reports
  • Demonstrated expertise in Order Management Solutions, Freight Management Solutions, and leading digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain
  • Familiarity with the Infor Nexus suite would be highly valued
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, coupled with a detail-oriented and data-driven approach to management
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and preferably additional European languages, reflecting the multicultural environment of the role
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Europe as needed to engage with teams, participate in strategic meetings, and lead regional initiatives
