As a Business & Data Architect, I design the business architecture for modern market and billing processes.

What makes this job interesting: 50Hertz is one of the four transmission system operators in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. We operate the power grid and central market processes for electricity trading. Due to the energy transition and decentralization, we are acting with an increasingly large number of market partners. To this end, we automate our processes and transform our IT systems. In my role as Business & Data Architect, I identify synergies, resolve data silos, and support the transformation to a data-centric company. I also support the assembly and setup of new product teams.

My Responsibilities:

  • Designing the business architecture for market and billing processes (smart meter processes, network billing, and similar),
  • Defining data responsibilities (data domains) and setting up data products,
  • Supporting the assembly of product teams,
  • Identifying synergies within the Elia Group.

My Skills:

  • Completed (Master's) degree in the field of (business) informatics, (business) engineering sciences, or a natural science-based basic study with corresponding professional experience,
  • Knowledge of business architecture methods (e.g., TOGAF),
  • Knowledge of product organization,
  • Languages: German/English (both at least B2).

Not a must, but an advantage:

  • Knowledge of the European energy market and German market processes,
  • IT technical understanding for efficient clarification of interfaces between business architecture and IT implementation.
