The Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) is a leading research center dedicated to cancer research. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biomedical Data Analyst to join our Single-cell Open Lab team in Heidelberg, Germany.

Job Description

This role involves conducting advanced bioinformatic analysis of spatial omics data, specifically within the Multispace project under the Health and Life Science Alliance Heidelberg-Mannheim initiative. You will work closely with the research community in Heidelberg on various projects, focusing on integrating diverse datasets from single-cell and spatial omics projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex scientific/technical problem-solving independently.
  • Develop transferable analysis frameworks and data sharing schemes.
  • Support and educate users in running these analyses.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing initiatives such as iofast for FAIR spatial data.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master's and PhD degree in systems/quantitative biology, physics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Strong computational skills, including programming expertise (e.g., R and Python).
  • Experience in complex image analysis, preferably in spatial transcriptomics and proteomics.
  • Knowledge in system administration is a plus.
  • Interest in molecular oncology.
  • Self-motivation and excellent communication skills.
