Molecular Virologist

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team at the Zentrum für Infektiologie. The successful applicant will study the entry of HEV into host cells, combining genetic, biochemical, and high-content imaging approaches.

This project focuses on understanding the role of integrins as host co-factors of HEV cell entry and investigating their involvement in species tropism of zoonotic HEV genotypes. Our research aims to identify and characterize cellular and viral determinants of cell entry.

• Design and conduct experiments to investigate HEV entry into host cells
• Analyze data from genetic, biochemical, and high-content imaging approaches
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new research methods

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• A Master's degree in Biomedical or Molecular Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or related fields
• Experience in molecular biology and virology
• Intermediate (B2 level or higher) knowledge of English (written and oral)
• Expertise in cell culture, cell imaging, and confocal microscopy is advantageous

We offer a competitive salary, benefits, and a supportive working environment. The estimated annual salary for this position is €60,000 - €80,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
