IFCO SYSTEMS is a global leader in reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food, dedicated to creating a more sustainable food supply chain.

Our RPCs enhance food safety during transport, minimize waste, and extend product shelf life. By utilizing fewer packaging materials, we significantly reduce our carbon footprint.

We are seeking a Data Operations Manager to join our team and play a vital role in optimizing our data platform and driving data-driven decision making across the organization.

Your Responsibilities
  • Champion the adoption of our Data Platform services, projects, and products by onboarding and enabling teams developing on the platform.
  • Establish and maintain robust Business-as-Usual processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
  • Take ownership of incident and support processes for the data platform, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define technical requirements and work with partners to implement solutions and provide 3rd level support.
  • Manage the release process for data-related projects and initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to define release schedules, deploy code and data changes, and track progress.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of a scalable and secure data platform architecture in close collaboration with cloud architects.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the performance and functionality of data platform services.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency of the data platform.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud data management tools and platforms (e.g., Azure data lakes, data warehouses, master data management systems) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data platforms, data pipelines, and data warehouse solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing DataOps / DevOps and Agile practices within IT organizations, with a strong understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Proficiency in using tools and technologies for data management and automation, including pipelines, notebooks, SQL, ETL tools, BI tools, and ML(Ops) tools – such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Power BI.
  • Fluent in German and English; other languages are a plus.
