About the Position

The Université du Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the SIGCOM research group. As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge research projects in the field of optical communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct theoretical and experimental research on meta-MAC layer development for underwater optical communication systems
  • Develop research around optical-based communications, including channel modeling, optimization of transmission and reception, network-based design, and evaluation
  • Design and develop network layer and meta-MAC layer protocols to provide a good performance-complexity trade-off for the identified scenarios and use cases
  • Compare with state-of-the-art and conventional solutions via numerical simulations and/or HW/chipset validation
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications and conferences
  • Assist in the organization of relevant workshops and demos
  • Prepare new research proposals to attract new projects
  • Provide assistance in the supervision of PhD students

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or affine
  • Proven record of accomplishment in the area of Optical communication or meta-MAC layer protocols
  • Solid mathematical and network background
  • Advanced physical layer security techniques
  • Experience with optical communication systems is desirable
  • Experience with underwater optics is considered a plus
  • International experience is desirable
  • Sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and top journals
  • Experience working with industrial or publicly funded research projects is highly desirable
