We are looking for a student electrical engineer, computer scientist, or information technology specialist to implement digital signal processing algorithms on a software-defined radio framework at our Institute of Communication and Navigation in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich.

The internship's purpose is to adapt, simulate, and implement existing receiver algorithms or design new ones for packet detection, timing acquisition, and frequency recovery under various performance constraints.

The focus lies on LEO channel conditions with high Doppler shift and low signal-to-noise ratio. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the interplay between computer science and communications engineering.

Requirements:

  • Security clearance pursuant to the Security Clearance Act (SÜG)
  • Study of Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or similar fields
  • Hands-on experience in C/C++, scripting languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python), Linux, and collaboration tools (e.g., git, svn)
  • Signal Processing for Communications (Layer 1 - PHY) knowledge is advantageous
