Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team in the Central DACH region. As an Application Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our customer service department and customers with product recommendations, specifications, and application proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support customer service department and customers with product recommendations, specifications, and application proposals.
  • Provide feedback to development and product line management regarding ideas for product improvement and compliance to regional standards and norms.
  • Analyze competitors' products and provide feedback to development and product line management.
  • Focus efforts on high-margin and profitable product sets and customers to ensure long-term success.
Requirements
  • University Engineering Degree.
  • Preferred Telecom or Datacom experience: 3+ years.
Skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Windows based: Power point, Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Strong German writing and speaking skills for interaction with customers. Additionally, English as operational internal language. Other languages are helpful.
  • Ability to convey technical, complex ideas to highly technical customers/colleagues or equally less technically inclined customers/colleagues.
  • Ability to present/give training comfortably and confidently in front of groups from 10-50 people.
Desired Skills
  • FTTH network design.
  • Good hand skills: basic mechanical/troubleshooting/repair skills.
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work comfortably in a team to support others, learn from others, and share information with others.
  • Ability to lead meetings to communicate internally the needs of customers at project sites.
  • Ability to listen to customers and work with difficult customers patiently in order to understand their needs and resolve their problems.
Travel Requirements

25% travel required. Primarily continental Europe, mainly in the DACH area. However, candidates must be prepared to travel anywhere within the EMEA region, including Israel and Africa. Flexibility to travel on short notice requiring overnight stays. All travel methods may be used: train, car, bus, ferry, plane. Must have proper Visas or EU citizenship to allow unrestricted travel. Candidate must possess current and valid local driving license and clean driving record to allow renting vehicles in other countries if required.

Work Schedule

Minimum 40-hour week plus travel time as required. Some weekend work or travel required.

Job Location: Berlin, Germany. Alternative location could be Hagen (NRW, Germany). Hybrid/remote working conditions are possible.
