Technical Marketing Specialist for Transportation Solutions

Join the cutting-edge team in the Transportation Business Unit (TBU) as a Technical Marketing Specialist, where you will spearhead the development and implementation of the go-to-market strategy for NI's Electric Vehicle (EV) testing solutions. This role is vital within the Transportation BU Marketing Team at NI, a premier provider of test and measurement solutions with established connections to automotive OEMs and tier one suppliers, focused on enhancing EV time-to-market, performance, and quality.

As a Technical Marketing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping strategic marketing initiatives, managing business projects, and executing marketing plans that directly impact market perception, stimulate demand, and drive growth in the EV sector. Your technical expertise and industry knowledge will be instrumental in formulating effective marketing strategies and messaging, as well as producing engaging content that aligns with customer requirements.

Collaborating closely with the sales team, you will be key in generating demand and facilitating business expansion. Your innovative mindset, organizational skills, and strong work ethic will contribute to the successful launch of new testing solutions, making a significant difference in the EV landscape. In this hybrid position, you will support marketing initiatives at NI's innovation centers and participate in industry events globally, enhancing your visibility and influence in the transportation sector.

The ideal candidate for this prominent role should possess a strong understanding of customer needs, a commitment to marketing excellence, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in the dynamic EV revolution and play a direct role in the success of NI's EV market segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of target application segments, including technical and business requirements, competitors, and market trends.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of target buyers within the application segments, focusing on their needs, challenges, and decision-making factors.
  • Collaborate with Business Managers to introduce new products and solutions.
  • Create and present compelling technical content, marketing materials, and event experiences that leverage NI's marketing campaigns to influence market perception and customer choices.
  • Design and implement a sales enablement strategy, including the development of training materials and sales support assets.
  • Engage with customers at NI's innovation centers and participate in industry events across various global transportation technology hubs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside NI to enhance effectiveness and influence in the role.
  • Work alongside the global campaign team and other marketing professionals to monitor performance, refine execution, and develop strategic marketing plans.

  • Revenue growth and performance within the business unit and segment.

  • Awareness of NI's offerings within target market segments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical knowledge of EV powertrain fundamentals, including energy storage and power conversion.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in engineering, testing, and/or marketing roles.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills in a global environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Effective time management abilities and a robust work ethic.
  • Based in a flexible work environment, able to operate in a hybrid capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive or test and measurement industries.
  • Familiarity with the design, testing, or operation of EV powertrain components and systems.
  • Background in technical marketing, including Field Marketing, Product Marketing, or Solutions Marketing.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, primarily within EMEA and occasionally internationally.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive behavior and valuing diversity in building relationships.
