RINA is actively seeking a Junior Marine Electrical Engineer to contribute to its operations in the Marine North Europe Region.
Role Overview
In this position, you will be tasked with evaluating the design of electrical installations and automation plans for vessels, ensuring compliance with statutory codes, RINA's guidelines, and both international and national standards. This will be carried out efficiently and consistently for new constructions, conversion projects, and operational ships.
Primary Responsibilities
Assess and authorize designs for electrical and automation systems, including advancements in autonomous vessel technology and cybersecurity, ensuring adherence to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations for new builds, existing vessels, and conversions. Support clients throughout the design and construction phases by offering expert advice and assistance related to electrical and automation systems, particularly in the context of autonomous technology and cybersecurity. Aid in the preparation of comprehensive marine engineering plan reviews, aligning with applicable RINA standards, international conventions, and contractual obligations. Provide direct or indirect assistance to engineering teams by collecting data, submitting necessary documentation, and managing daily operational tasks. Generate project deliverables, including technical reports, performance documentation, and engineering schematics. Assume responsibility for the financial aspects of assigned tasks. Oversee straightforward projects using established project management principles and methodologies. Evaluate minor structural issues for both internal and external clients to identify solutions with minimal oversight.Required Qualifications
Degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering or a related field. 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience. Proficient in English; fluency in German is advantageous. Familiarity with pertinent RINA regulations, statutory requirements, and international standards.
