Key ResponsibilitiesAs a working student or intern in Operations Research (OR) within our vibrant development team, you will engage at the intersection of quantum computing and operational research, applying your skills in mathematical modeling and optimization techniques. This role provides a unique opportunity to blend theoretical insights with practical involvement, allowing you to make significant contributions to our innovative projects.
- Explore potential applications of quantum computing within operational research across various industries.
- Assess the impact of operational research solutions in large-scale industrial environments.
- Implement classical heuristic algorithms to tackle optimization challenges in internal proof of concept projects.
- Create clear and concise reports and visual aids to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management.
- Contribute to the development of tools and software solutions for optimization problems, utilizing your programming expertise.
- Currently enrolled in a German university pursuing a bachelor's (beyond 3 semesters), master's, or PhD degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, with knowledge of optimization methods, linear algebra, heuristic algorithms, and probability theory.
- Proficient in Python programming, with experience in developing algorithms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Enthusiastic about quantum computing and its practical applications in solving real-world problems.
