Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified researcher to represent pioneering electrolysis and electrosynthesis technologies in research, academic education, and innovation.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or several of the following fields:

  • Technologies for electrochemical production or conversion of hydrogen, other fuels, or chemicals.
  • Experimental or model-based analysis of these technologies or systems.
  • Design, optimization, or operation of novel electrolyzers.
  • Integration of electrolyzers in energy grids or chemical production facilities.

The successful candidate will be involved in existing and newly established German and English study programs offered by the KIT Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology as well as in related programs offered by other Departments of KIT.

The researcher will execute university tasks with a teaching obligation of 6 hours per week per semester, if evaluated positively. In other cases, the teaching obligation will be 4 hours per week per semester.

Requirements

The team is looking for a researcher with internationally recognized scientific qualification and reputation, very good didactic skills, and leadership competence.

The ideal candidate should have acquired an externally evaluated junior research group, with less than half of the funding period elapsed at the time of publication of the present vacancy notice.

International publications, acquisition of third-party funding, and active participation in the work of our academic bodies are part of the duties of the professor.

Initiation of collaboration projects with industry and transfer of research findings to application are desired.
