Position Overview

What is the role?

This position involves overseeing daily operations to assist senior bankers in the execution of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financing transactions across diverse sectors within the DACH region and internationally. The role requires applying extensive knowledge and expertise to manage complex tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the origination and execution of transactions for targeted clients across various products, including Advisory, Debt, and Equity Capital Markets.

• Manage transaction processes, ensuring consistent communication with clients, specialist advisors, and internal departments, while securing necessary internal approvals.

• Participate in new business presentations and meetings, contributing to the development of pitch books and related client materials.

• Conduct thorough research to gather public information from multiple sources.

• Develop and utilize financial models and tools essential for executing transactions.

• Facilitate the transaction process through to documentation and funding stages.

• Provide mentorship and training to Analysts, overseeing their workflow and outputs.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • University degree.
  • Prior experience in M&A advisory (Investment Banking or Accounting).
  • Proven track record in Investment Banking transactions with a solid understanding of valuation methodologies.
  • Strong grasp of capital markets and proficiency in spreadsheet modeling.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with a strong foundation in corporate finance and accounting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Fluency in English and German.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Creative and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to source, analyze, and apply relevant information effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with information sources such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and Thomson Financial.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M&A/Corporate Finance experience within a Big 4 firm or an Investment Bank.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages.
  • CFA Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.
  • Experience in marketing and executing advisory and financing transactions.
