Position: Investment Banking Associate

Division: Global Investment Banking

Location: Frankfurt

Reports to: Head of European Investment Banking, Head of DACH Investment Banking

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering quantitative, qualitative, and analytical support for mergers and acquisitions as well as other financial advisory services across diverse sectors.
  2. Conducting company valuations, developing financial models, and creating client presentations.
  3. Managing due diligence processes, overseeing project management, and performing financial/statistical analyses.
  4. Associates may serve as key members of advisory teams, typically ranging from No.2 to No.4 based on experience.
  5. Specific departmental responsibilities may be assigned, particularly in relation to business development initiatives.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

Associates should possess the following:

  • A comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to perform detailed financial analyses.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Strong writing capabilities.
  • Effective presentation skills, particularly in preparing presentations.
  • Time management and project management abilities.

Associates should also be developing the following:

  • Commercial judgment and awareness.
  • Skills in transaction execution.
  • Presentation skills, both in preparation and delivery.
  • Negotiation capabilities.
  • People management skills, especially in mentoring analysts and overseeing their work.
  • Client relationship management skills.
  • A thorough understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks, ideally including the Listing Rules and the Blue Book.
  • Awareness of stock market dynamics and general economic conditions.

This role requires adherence to the Group's compliance policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Experience:

  1. A graduate with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent.
  2. Qualified Accountant or Lawyer, or
  3. Completion of an MBA, or
  4. Experience in an Analyst or equivalent position within an Investment Bank or relevant industry (except in exceptional circumstances).
