Electrical Technician for Energy Testing - Test Operations (d/m/w)

Your Responsibilities
  • Utilize your knowledge and expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for the design of switchgear for mechanical and electrical test benches up to 1 kV (AC & DC), adhering to relevant electrical and safety technical standards. This includes analyzing and specifying electrical safety and control systems, along with their technical verification and design validation.
  • Select electrical components, assist in their procurement, and prepare the necessary technical documentation.
  • Assemble electrical equipment, integrate switchgear into test benches, and support instrumentation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Actively engage in process improvement through feedback, troubleshoot issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute to administrative tasks that enhance the functionality of the Test Operations team and its facilities (e.g., creating processes, templates, and technical documentation, maintaining the electrical workshop).
Your Profile
  • Completed apprenticeship, master craftsman, or technician qualification as an electronics technician in industrial, operational, or automation technology, or a comparable education, or a degree in electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with electrical systems up to 1 kV DC, particularly with Li-Ion HV-Batteries for automotive or aerospace applications.
  • Experience in a testing environment for prototype Li-Ion HV-Battery development (cell & stack-level) is essential.
  • Possession of EFK (HV2) and/or AuS (HV2) Certification, along with practical experience.
  • Knowledge of the Low Voltage Directive, the Machinery Directive, and relevant electrical standards such as DIN EN 50191, DIN EN 61439, or comparable standards is advantageous.
  • Ability to construct LV and HV harnesses, disassemble prototype HV-Batteries, and assist in preparing Li-Ion Cell and HV-Battery Tests (Environmental, Mechanical, Abuse, and Electrical).
  • Experience with sensor applications (e.g., thermocouples, strain gauges, load cells) is a plus.
  • Proficient in standard IT software such as MS-Office and willing to learn new software tools (e.g., databases). Experience with E-PLAN is an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork skills, a high sense of responsibility, manual dexterity, and the ability to work based on verbal and written instructions or complex technical documentation are essential. We seek a goal-oriented and motivated individual with analytical, independent problem-solving skills to manage tasks effectively.
  • Good written and spoken English skills are required; German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support external test setups at testing facilities.
  • A valid driver's license class B (car) is required.
