Role Purpose:
The Academic Operations Director exemplifies our core values and takes full responsibility for the institution, fostering an environment where students can enjoy an outstanding educational experience. This position entails overseeing Student Services, Facilities, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Academics, and Finance and IT, ensuring exceptional service quality and student satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Services:
- Guarantee student satisfaction and high-quality service delivery.
- Promptly address and resolve student concerns.
- Supervise the Student Services team and manage the social program.
- Maintain student records and monitor visa application processes.
Operations:
- Evaluate and address negative trends in operations, quality, or financial performance.
- Monitor local and national competitors.
- Manage home stay and residence accommodations.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Assist with Young Learner camps and year-round closed group operations.
Academics:
- Oversee the operational aspects of the academic department.
- Maintain class averages and manage coursebook inventory.
- Provide academic support and guidance to both students and teaching staff.
- Coordinate placement, progress, and exit assessments.
- Assist in planning and delivering orientation sessions.
- Manage and support teaching personnel.
Teacher Training:
- Develop and update academic materials and programs.
- Assign teachers to classes and courses.
- Offer support and training to teaching staff.
Recruitment:
- Recruit EFL instructors and manage the staff database.
- Conduct online interviews and pre-course assessments.
Human Resources:
- Ensure timely and accurate staff remuneration.
- Manage leave and participate in employee appraisal processes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Sales and Marketing:
- Maximize local direct sales and support marketing initiatives.
- Represent English Path at local education fairs and promotional events.
Financial Management:
- Review financial performance and manage budgets effectively.
- Ensure the financial viability of the institution.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to work and reside in the country.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Full working proficiency in English and German.
- Strong communication skills and experience in customer service roles.
- Background in International Education or the English Language sector.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Experience with cross-cultural or international business relationships.
- Structured and innovative approach to lesson planning.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and support for less experienced educators.
Education and Experience:
- DELTA or equivalent level ELT qualification.
- Minimum bachelor's degree.
- Experience in providing academic support and feedback.
- Familiarity with student visa regulations is advantageous.
Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities:
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the implementation of procedures to protect students.
Promote safeguarding within the institution and maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
Manage cases of misconduct and abuse, liaising with external agencies as necessary.
Support the Academic team with classroom management and student behavior.
