EDA Software Engineer for Integrated Circuits

Position Overview

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS is a prominent research facility in Europe, specializing in integrated circuit design. We are seeking a dedicated EDA Software Engineer and Administrator to enhance our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to develop and maintain virtualization solutions, including remote desktop and grid computing frameworks.
  • Install and configure CAD systems tailored for microelectronics, including libraries and process design kits (PDKs) for integrated circuit designers.
  • Ensure seamless operation of systems and serve as the primary point of contact for technical support.
  • Contribute to public research initiatives by developing and managing a cloud infrastructure that provides access to CAD software and PDKs for external collaborators.
  • Design and implement testbenches for PDK validation.
  • Receive comprehensive training on systems based on your prior experience.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Microelectronics or Computer Science.
  • Proficient in Linux operating systems, preferably RedHat/Rocky Linux.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as tcsh, bash, perl, python, and Cadence-Skill.
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Mentor) for integrated circuit development is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of web servers and databases is a plus.
  • Strong customer service orientation, teamwork skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; proficiency in German is a plus.
