Sustainability Intern in Carbon Management

ABOUT THE ROLE

At BASF, we are committed to shaping a sustainable future through strategic decision-making. Our Corporate Center plays a pivotal role in guiding the Board of Executive Directors on portfolio management and resource allocation. We focus on developing comprehensive strategies, assessing risks and opportunities, and analyzing trends in sustainability and technology. Collaborating with various operating divisions, we implement these strategies effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Corporate Sustainability division is dedicated to embedding sustainability into BASF's fundamental business operations and strategic choices. The Carbon Steering Group is seeking motivated working students with a passion for sustainability to join us for a duration of 4-6 months.

  • You will assist in CO2 accounting tasks, including the assessment and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions at both product and corporate levels.
  • Collaborate with our team to incorporate sustainability into global strategies and decision-making frameworks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing studies in chemistry, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in corporate strategy and sustainability issues, with some practical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle assessment is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and possess a strong IT affinity.
  • Excellent command of both German and English.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate strategic thinking.
