Position Overview: In our IT department, we are seeking an IT Governance & Compliance Manager (m/f/d) for a full-time, permanent role.
About Us: VR Payment is a leading payment service provider in Germany and a member of the DZ BANK Group, offering comprehensive payment solutions tailored for the cooperative financial sector. We specialize in cashless payment methods, providing a wide range of services including network operations, terminal solutions, card acceptance, APMs, app payment solutions, e-commerce services, marketplace solutions, and issuing processing. Our company manages a significant number of terminals and millions of credit cards, processing a vast number of transactions annually.
Your Responsibilities:We are looking to strengthen our 1st Line of Defense in IT with experienced professionals who possess in-depth knowledge of compliance and governance requirements.
- Lead the enhancement and ongoing development of the IT compliance framework and processes.
- Develop actionable recommendations regarding IT compliance and monitor the implementation of measures.
- Maintain and oversee regulatory requirements related to IT and ensure proper documentation.
- Further develop and manage the internal control system for IT (IT-IKS) and define control objectives for operational IT.
- Plan, prepare, support, and coordinate audits in close collaboration with the 2nd Line of Defense.
- Identify IT risk areas through survey programs and advise departments on improving IT processes and control measures.
- Define processes and requirements, conduct controls, and report on quality assurance measures, maturity of IT compliance, and organizational and project risks.
- Implement proactive monitoring of changes needed due to new or amended laws, regulations, or standards, and support their implementation in IT.
Professional:
- Completed studies in (business) informatics, economics, law with a focus on IT law, or a comparable qualification.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as ZAIT, DORA, PCI DSS, etc., and their cost drivers.
- Solid understanding of IT governance and compliance standards (e.g., ITIL4, COBIT19, BSI Basic Protection, ISO 27001, etc.), ideally certified by relevant organizations.
- Experience in designing processes, documented regulations, and IT-IKS.
- Relevant professional experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Ideally, experience in audit activities.

- Strong affinity for IT and enthusiasm for continuously tracking developments in IT governance and compliance.
- Able to translate complex regulatory matters into actionable proposals and communicate them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining IT compliance requirements to management and IT teams.
- Assertive and solution-oriented, with a focus on practical solutions.
