Location: Berlin

Salary: Up To 150k TC

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a newly established Technical division; refine and enhance technological processes within a rapidly expanding organization.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical specialists in a vibrant startup atmosphere.
  • Oversee financial planning, timelines, and resource allocation within the technical department.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team on operational and product-related challenges.
  • Set clear technical objectives that align with the product vision and business goals.
  • Foster individual strengths and develop the team to benefit both the unit and its members.
  • Evaluate skills and competencies to ensure optimal personnel utilization.
  • Continuously assess performance to boost productivity.
  • Promote innovation.
  • Work closely with developers to identify motivators and barriers.
  • Establish quality standards and a technical strategy to guarantee the stability and availability of all services.
  • Equip the team with the essential technology stack to develop the product, balancing the product vision with emerging technologies to meet our objectives.
  • Stay informed about technological trends and advancements.
  • Manage technical operations.
  • Review processes in collaboration with the Product Management team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of practical experience in software engineering, with significant experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams, with a proven track record of leading large groups.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with stakeholders to design hiring strategies that foster high-performing teams.
  • Solid background in creating organizations focused on innovation, infrastructure development, team-building, and motivation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale architecture; proven record of scaling services.
  • Prior experience in a startup setting, thriving in establishing order from chaos.
  • In-depth understanding of the SaaS business model.
  • Experience in designing effective engineering organizational structures.
  • Knowledge of financial and economic aspects related to R&D development (investment levels and budgets).
  • Experience with the following technology stack: Go Lang (Backend) and GCP (Google Cloud Platform) is essential.
