Costing Manager

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The role serves as a pivotal element in executing Global Costing strategies by collaborating with Development, Marketing, Design, and Liaison Office teams to optimize go-in margin at the category level. Oversee all facets of the Project Planning process for designated Business Units, ensuring seamless coordination of Logistics operations between various offices in alignment with Corporate, Sourcing, Costing, and Marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage collaboratively with liaison offices to convey model-level pricing strategies and effectively resolve critical issues to meet pricing objectives.
- Partner with Category teams in Marketing, Design, and Project Management to ensure margin enhancement at the model level, adhering to the company's strategic goals.
- Oversee all elements of the Project Planning process for assigned categories.
- Assist Project Management and Marketing with a proactive approach to costing, aligning with the product creation timeline to achieve target margins.
- Facilitate the development or enhancement of systems to meet costing requirements and enhance costing performance.
- Independently coordinate and conduct category costing assessments at key milestones in the product creation process; ensure alignment among Marketing, Design, Project Management, and Sourcing regarding cost target achievement, and manage seasonal costing recaps as necessary to communicate status and focus on critical pricing matters.
- Contribute significantly to category growth and profitability by understanding category business potential, anticipating needs, and proposing cost-effective solutions to meet objectives.
- In collaboration with Sourcing, Global Planning, and Project Management, contribute to allocation strategies at the model level to ensure margin optimization.
- Advise and reinforce pull forward timelines to Development, analyze and recommend on forecast versus tooling capacity to Marketing to ensure target production ramp-up for each project is achieved.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sourcing Offices, and Development to ensure timely and accurate information for the Pre-Production Agreement (PPA) process.
- Review and update data changes to relevant CPRs: modify marketing forecasts, factory production schedules, development timelines, and comments from all involved parties in the CPR process.
- Effectively communicate sourcing changes and directives to Customer Service Teams.
- Manage and monitor tooling amortization.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Technical background in product engineering, development, or production.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint / email management).
- Familiarity with adidas Footwear systems (FLS, IB, SIM, RMS, ILS, PDM) is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is required; proficiency in German or Mandarin is a plus.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the active sports industry, specializing in product costing, product development, or marketing, with a proven record of leadership potential.
- Undergraduate university degree is preferred.
