Director of Operations

YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Formulating and implementing strategies to enhance driver involvement and retention while leading our accomplished German team. Establish clear objectives and strategies.
  • Supervise the refinement of local operational workflows and protocols across our primary areas of Service Quality, Business Development, and Customer Operations.
  • Build and maintain essential relationships that will expand our business (stakeholders include: drivers; fleet owners; unions; brand partners; local communities, etc.).
  • Assume responsibility for our expansion in Germany by ensuring that both local operations and headquarters teams collaborate effectively to achieve business goals.
  • Guide, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Work in conjunction with various teams, including Product, Marketplace Performance, and Business Analytics, to bolster business development efforts.
  • Act as the representative voice of German/Austrian drivers in discussions with senior management and central stakeholders, serving as a strong advisor for key decision-makers at FREENOW.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in Technology, Operations, or Consulting/Strategy. Less experience may be compensated with drive, intelligence, and integrity.
  • Proficient in managing and leading remote/hybrid teams.
  • Possess a logical, structured, and efficient approach to work to meet deadlines and communicate progress effectively.
  • A self-starter with a business-oriented mindset, capable of developing strong relationships with commercial stakeholders and taking ownership of innovative ideas.
  • Skilled in data analysis and automation frameworks to identify trends and patterns. Knowledge of Tableau, Python, and SQL is advantageous.
  • Comfortable collaborating with Product and Technology teams to define operational requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English and German, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and communicate with teams outside of direct management.
