The Opportunity:

As a vital member of the Global Regulatory and Public Affairs team, you will engage in all facets of regulatory and public affairs matters for Lilium across Europe and internationally. Your role will involve addressing challenges, seizing opportunities, and delivering unprecedented outcomes.

The company is pioneering an innovative concept by developing an all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet, which promises exceptional capacity, minimal noise, and outstanding performance with zero operational emissions, thereby introducing electric Regional Air Mobility to urban areas.

Consequently, the establishment of new regulations will be essential, covering areas such as air operations, pilot licensing, airspace integration, and infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute Lilium's regulatory and policy strategy.
  • Engage with regulators, authorities, and policymakers across Europe and globally to influence the regulatory landscape for eVTOL jets and electric aviation.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant policy and regulatory developments at various levels.
  • Draft and advocate for policy papers, representing Lilium in trade associations and other relevant forums.
  • Communicate Lilium's needs to elected officials and regulatory bodies.

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong academic credentials in law, economics, politics, or a related field; expertise in aviation law is advantageous.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, startups, or other relevant business environments is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in regulatory and/or public affairs, with exposure to high-level decision-makers.
  • Proven experience in aviation or passenger transportation sectors.
  • Track record of successful regulatory adjustments.
  • Experience collaborating with elected officials.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German or other languages is beneficial.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to cultivate positive relationships across various levels and functions.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and adept at navigating ambiguity.
