About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our team at the European Central Bank. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing our operational framework, proposing recommendations for its enhancement, and coordinating key policy dossiers, analyses, and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our operational framework, identifying areas for improvement and proposing recommendations for enhancement.
- Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of key policy dossiers, analyses, and reports, presenting them in internal and external meetings.
- Engage with colleagues from various business areas and national central banks to prepare complex dossiers related to monetary policy implementation and market infrastructure functioning.
- Foster close cooperation within the Section, Division, and across the Directorate General.
Qualifications and Experience
- A master's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, or business administration, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of seven years' professional experience in central banking, with at least five years of relevant experience in market operations and/or monetary policy implementation, financial markets, and risk management.
- A good knowledge of our operational framework for monetary policy implementation and the ability to develop expertise in this area.
- Sound experience in preparing, drafting, and presenting clear and concise policy or analytical notes, dossiers, and reports.
- Proven skills in analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting large data sets of quantitative and qualitative financial information.
- An advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU.
Working Modalities
To ensure business continuity, you may be required to work during non-standard hours and at our standby sites. We are open to discussing part-time arrangements for this role.
