EWIS Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) for the Volocity aircraft.
- Create standard or commercial part models for the VoloCity, including connectors, backshells, and other components.
- Design and synchronize 3D harness routing models with schematics.
- Develop and populate 2D Formboards Drawings.
- Create harness installation drawings.
- Design power, networking, sensors, and different systems routing.
- Integrate EWIS models into the digital mock-up and review to ensure proper implementation of rules.
- Provide documentation to comply with certification and aircraft requirements.
- Support other systems to define equipment interfaces and harmonize interfaces across systems.
- Support the integration team to define space allocation models.
- Support the prototyping team to integrate the harness into the aircraft and create documentation for non-conformities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration, and drafting, preferably with Siemens NX or CATIA V5.
- Familiarity with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects.
- Good knowledge of aviation EWIS standards and specifications, such as AC43.13 and AS50881.
- Very good knowledge of harness installation rules, including segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility, and manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of PLM systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.
- Structured work approach, dynamic self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of electrical schematic and quality processes.
- Good understanding of EWIS Flight Test Instrumentation.
- Experience in system and requirements engineering.
