Job Description

We are seeking an EWIS Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Volocity aircraft. As an EWIS Engineer, you will be responsible for creating the EWIS Design for our Volocity aircraft, creating standard or commercial part models, and synchronizing 3D harness routing models with schematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create EWIS Design for Volocity aircraft
  • Create standard or commercial part models for VoloCity
  • Synchronize 3D harness routing models with schematics
  • Create 2D Formboards Drawings
  • Create harness installation drawings
  • Design power, networking, sensors, and different systems routing
  • Perform integration of EWIS models in the digital mock-up and review the digital mock-up to verify proper implementation of the rules
  • Provide requested documentation to comply with certification and aircraft requirements
  • Support other systems to define equipment interfaces and harmonize interfaces across systems
  • Support integration team to define space allocation models
  • Support prototyping team to integrate harness into aircraft and create documentation for non-conformities

Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering, or similar
  • At least 5+ years professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
  • Experience in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration, and drafting (preferably with Siemens NX, but also with CATIA V5)
  • Familiarity with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects
  • Good knowledge of aviation EWIS standards and specification such as AS50881
  • Very good knowledge of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility, and manufacturing
  • Good knowledge of PLM systems (preferably Siemens Teamcenter)
  • Structured way of working, dynamic self-starter, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
  • Knowledge on electrical schematic and quality processes
  • Good understanding of EWIS Flight Test Instrumentation
  • Experience in system and requirements engineering
