EWIS Design Engineer

Join Volocopter GmbH as an EWIS Design Engineer and contribute to the development of our Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating EWIS designs for our Volocity aircraft, including standard and commercial part models, 3D harness routing models, and 2D Formboards Drawings.
Responsibilities:- Create EWIS designs for Volocity aircraft
- Develop standard and commercial part models
- Design 3D harness routing models and synchronize with schematics
- Create 2D Formboards Drawings
- Design harness installation drawings
- Design power, networking, sensors, and different systems routing
- Integrate EWIS models in the digital mock-up and review for proper implementation of rules
- Provide requested documentation to comply with certification and aircraft requirements
- Support other systems to define equipment interfaces and harmonize interfaces across systems
- Support integration team to define space allocation models
- Support prototyping team to integrate harness into aircraft and create documentation for non-conformities
- Bachelor's/Master's/PhD degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering, or similar
- At least 5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
- Experience in 3D electrical routing, mechanical integration, and drafting (preferably with Siemens NX, but also with CATIA V5)
- Familiarity with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal aspects
- Good knowledge of aviation EWIS standards and specifications such as AC43.13, AS50881
- Very good knowledge of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, accessibility, and manufacturing
- Good knowledge of PLM systems (preferably Siemens Teamcenter)
- Structured way of working, dynamic self-starter, with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- 5+ years of professional experience in 3D EWIS Design in the aerospace industry
- Knowledge of electrical schematic and quality processes
- Good understanding of EWIS Flight Test Instrumentation
- Experience in system and requirements engineering
