Automotive R&D Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated R&D Project Leader focused on the Automotive Market. This role is crucial for driving innovation and managing various projects aligned with our automotive strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Innovation Management:
Oversee and implement innovation initiatives including new product development and modifications to existing products aimed at creating advanced polyamide solutions for automotive applications. This involves:- Organizing project meetings and reviews to define objectives, timelines, and resources.
- Collaborating with customer-facing teams to translate client requirements into technical specifications and conducting presentations of new solutions.
- Technical Development:
Lead exploratory projects to enhance technical support for new applications and technologies, including:- Identifying necessary technical actions to position our products effectively in emerging applications.
- Coordinating with various Application Center labs to facilitate research and testing.
- Raw Material Approval:
Engage in raw material assessments and assist in the homologation process by:- Meeting with suppliers and leading projects within the raw material portfolio.
- Planning and analyzing tests at both R&D and industrial levels to validate new materials.
- Regional Support:
Provide assistance to other regions (such as China, India, and the US) regarding local product development initiatives. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations as well as quality standards.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master) in Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemistry.
- Strong understanding of polymer properties and technical plastics formulation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plastics formulation for injection molding.
- Proven project leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
- A collaborative spirit and customer-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated curiosity and proactive approach to problem-solving.
