Automotive R&D Project Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated R&D Project Leader specializing in the Automotive Market. This role involves steering various projects aligned with our automotive strategy roadmap, focusing on new product development, adaptations, and exploring new applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovation Management:
- Oversee and implement innovation initiatives, focusing on the development of advanced polyamide solutions tailored for automotive applications.
- Facilitate project team meetings and reviews, establishing project deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation while monitoring for any deviations.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to comprehend requirements and translate them into technical specifications, including conducting technical presentations and engaging with clients as necessary.
- Technical Development:
- Lead exploratory projects to enhance technical support for new applications and technologies, working closely with Application Development Managers.
- Identify necessary technical actions to position existing or new products for emerging applications.
- Coordinate efforts with various Application Center labs to foster knowledge and expertise in formulations and applications.
- Raw Material Approval:
- Engage in raw material surveys and assist the raw material manager in the homologation of new materials.
- Conduct tests at both R&D and industrial levels, analyze outcomes, and collaborate with stakeholders to validate and approve new materials for product formulations.
- Regional Support:
- Provide assistance to other regions, including China, India, and the US, on local product development initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to HSE regulations, quality standards, and company policies, promoting a culture of safety in all activities.
Candidate Profile:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Material Science, or Chemistry.
- Strong understanding of polymer properties, technical plastics formulation, and processing technologies.
- Experience in the automotive sector is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in plastics formulation for injection molding.
- Proven track record in project leadership and cross-functional management.
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and maintain a customer-oriented approach.
