The Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our core R&D team at our headquarters in Hilden, Germany. As a Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing laboratory disposables for our products. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Independent development of plastic assemblies with external partners
- Complete documentation of the development of plastic assemblies, including IVD standards
- Further development of technology for laboratory disposables for future products, including technology research, feasibility studies, patent screening, and own patents
- Development of innovative microfluidic systems for laboratory applications
- Development and implementation of new testing and analysis systems for complex plastic articles
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- At least 3 years' experience in the development of complex plastic assemblies, preferably for medical technology or diagnostics
- Several years' experience in the production of plastic articles and in the planning and introduction of sophisticated tools and systems following mechanical engineering principles
- Strong analytical skills and good experience with statistics and test planning
- Innovative personality with a track record of driving technological developments
- Ability to work independently and without an internal team, with a willingness to take on laboratory and workshop work
- Strong experience in supplier and partner management
- Fluent English and German, written and spoken
